Maixent is originally from the Landes, south-west of France but now he lives in Biarritz. Last month he gave us an appointment in his adopted city.
A student at Edhec Lille and currently on an internship at Surfin Estate, Maixent was eager to try out our board models. On the agenda that morning: the test of an X-FLR6 in 5'6. Grey sky, nice swell, light fog: ideal to enjoy the elegance of the Basque Country.
The conditions are difficult but Maixent manages to get the best out of the X-FLR6: the board surprises with its speed and maneuverability in these powerful but capricious waves. "It is the kind of board that makes you want to surf differently and try new tricks," he says after getting out of the water.
